These ORBINOX ‘XC’ series hopper outlet knife gate valves are destined for use within an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) application on a coal fired power station. ESP is a filtration device that removes fine particles, like fly ash, from a flowing gas using the force of an induced electrostatic charge. Our knife gate valve technology offers a robust and reliable solution in these arduous environments, with field proven results, managing the bulk material from the precipitator hopper system. The valves have been painted in accordance with ISO 12944 C3 system for increased corrosion protection and have been fitted with our ‘C’ type deflector cone, acting as the primary scraper whilst protecting the valve body and guiding the abrasive material through the centre of the valves bore.
